Let us share with you an experience a customer of ours had.
She was 26 years old when her first child was born. She had read and planned for being a new mom with excitement and a determination to do what she believed would be best for her child. It was her first visit to the pediatrician with her newborn; he was hungry and started crying. She immediately thought to nurse him. She tried to lift her shirt a little bit and latch him on underneath as discreetly as possible. Her newborn started to cry louder as he got impatient. Her face began to turn red as she fumbled underneath her shirt to try to figure out how to get him latched on without seeing what she was doing. They both became more and more frustrated. As a last resort she completely lifted her shirt up and over her head in order to see what she was doing. The thought of those around her had completely left her mind. The crying of her son was all she could hear and think about. Once he was latched on and quieted down, she pulled her shirt back over to cover herself. It was then she thought to look up at those around her. Her face became more flushed as her midwife said,” you’ll have to find a way to be more discreet,” as gently as possible.
When she returned home she began looking for clothing for nursing. She placed an order with a company and waited, excitedly. When the clothing arrived, she was sorely disappointed. The styles were massive, even though they were a size small. The nursing opening would sometimes gap when the wind blew too hard and there was still fabric in her way. As a first time nursing mom, she still needed to see what she was doing. She returned the items and started looking for more
